Brownies and appreciation ;)

I have so many to write about tonight !

My house smells of baked chocolate ! Yessss.... im making brownies. For the past 3 days been baking them non-stop! I enjoy baking them and eating them crumbs. And so im now the official Brownie baker and promoter haha ....well it is just a start of something that could be a lucrative business and who knows i can leave my current job to be a brownie maker J That way i’d be loving the job im at. Im not saying that i don’t like my current job, i think ive just lost some passion having being in the same line for too long. And so ... food... being in food business... who gets bored of food or chocolate to be exact ?
Talk about work, one of my colleagues (a junior) will be transferred to another department. I didn’t expect he’d have a heart to heart kinda talk with me. He said his thank you for my guidance and what touched me the most was when he mentioned me as one of the most important person in his recent career for motivating, supporting and inspiring. Ohhhh my that such flatter flatter .... five stars for me, no ??? :D I’ve never thought that i could be some motivator. Maybe ive under rated my self but ive always told others to have a can “DO” attitude and give it their best shot before saying some task/assignment is difficult. My exact words would be “im sure you can, you can do it”.
So, it’s back to brownies again lols ... I mean the Brownies business. I was thinking to start a page at Facebook and my 1st project is to come up with a yummy -licious yet enticing name.
Im off now and back to baking my last batch for tonight . And maybe turn in early and i so need a kiss goodnite ! umwahhhh for now :))

TOMATOES for the face

Am not a fan of tomatoes unless ofcourse theyre in spaghetti or tabouleh and thats about it.
Today I found another use for tomatoes, thanks to girly lunch talks.
We were first talking about acnes and how to remove them and bla bla bla and came the mightly super healing power of the fruit vegetable TOMATO.
This girlfriend was sharing how good it was at shrinking her pores and also healed her pimpled skin. What she did was crush a tomato and freeze them in ice cube maker which makes it easier to keep and use whenever needed. Just smooth the frozen tomato over face, leave to dry and then clean and mositurise as usual.

So, here are some infos from the research i did on the benefits of tomatoes for the skin and also some tips on how to use them.

Some facts :
  • Tomatoes make an excellent skin treatment for everything from large pores, acne to rashes and more
  • Tomatoes have cooling elements to soothe raw skin, astringents to remove excess oil, and tons of vitamin C and A to brighten dull skin and restore its health
Shrink pores with tomato and lime
Combine one tablespoon of fresh tomato juice with two to four drops of fresh lime juice. Apply the mixture with a cotton ball and massage gently into skin using circular motions. Leave on the skin for about 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm or water to shrink pores even further, then moisturize.

Cure acne with tomato pulp Mash a fresh tomato and apply the pulp liberally to your face. Leave on skin for an hour or more, then rinse and moisturize. Do this every day for several days and your acne will disappear.

Make a quick and easy tomato facial
Cut a tomato in half and rub it on your face. Press into blackheads. Rinse and moisturize.

Use tomato as an astringent
To remove excess oil from your skin, crush a fresh tomato and strain, then set the juice aside. Next, squeeze a cucumber into the tomato juice. Apply to skin with a cotton ball daily to keep oil and acne under control.

Cool irritated skin with a tomato-and-yogurt mask
If your skin is raw, irritated, itchy, sunburned, red, blotchy, or scaly, you’ll enjoy the benefits of this yogurt-and-tomato mask. Yogurt gives skin a protein boost and leaves skin soft, while tomato cools and neutralizes the skin’s surface. Crush half a tomato and add two tablespoons of plain, unsweetened yogurt. Mix well and spread the mixture on your face. Let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Get glowing skin with tomato juice and honey
Mix honey and tomato juice and apply to your face and neck. Let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Your skin will be smooth and glowing!
